Accessibility
The Monty's accommodation has been designed to provide that same 'boutique' feel for all travellers to enjoy. The property has step-free access from the car park to reception, and the accommodation rooms.
The Monty is ideally located to make the most of the adaptive and wheel-chair friendly experiences on offer in Anglesea, and on the Great Ocean Road.
Exploring nature
Anglesea’s flat scenic river pathway offers a relaxing way to explore, linking the main beach to the heart of town - perfect for a gentle stroll or wheel. Along the way, you’ll enjoy peaceful viewing platforms, shady spots to pause, and easy access to the local cafés, shops, and picnic areas.
There is a changing places facility accessible toilet at the Anglesea Riverbank Car Park, and access to the riverbank path and viewing platforms. Find a quiet spot and enjoy views across the river to the iconic Anglesea boatsheds.
Anglesea is a great area for wildlife spotting and birdwatching. Keep a look out for kangaroos and birdlife at dusk. And after dark, Anglesea is also a great location for stargazing.
Sweet treats
On your way into Anglesea, include a visit to The Chocolateries Great Ocean Road. You'll love exploring their handcrafted chocolates, extensive range of ice cream flavours, and famous brownies. There are also daily classes, tastings and workshops, as well as an all-day café. The venue has wheelchair ramps, onsite disability parking, and disability toilets.
Adaptive adventures
Go Ride A Wave offer private adaptive lessons to make surf and river activities accessible to everyone, so you can enjoy the thrill of wave‑riding or the calm of a river adventure.
Accessible beaches
Anglesea has accessible beaches. Beach wheelchairs and walkers are available and can be booked for Anglesea Beach and Point Roadknight. And from December to April, access matting is installed for easy wheel-chair access.
